• CIVIL RIGHTS LITIGATION & RESTORATION
Areas of Legal Practice: Joseph J. Pappacoda
If you have been falsely arrested for a crime you did not commit, maliciously prosecuted for a crime, been the victim of excessive force by over-zealous law enforcement, or otherwise have been injured, physically, psychologically, or financially, by police, or government officials for these matters, you may be able to file a civil suit for violation of your civil rights. Civil rights litigation may be filed in State Courts, or in Federal Court, depending on the nature of your claim, and the relief you seek.
If you have been convicted of a crime at the State level, you may make application to have your civil rights restored, e.g. the right to vote, run for public office, serve as a juror, etc. These applications are generally reviewed on a case by case basis, and may take years before they are ultimately reviewed by State authorities.
